Once upon a time in a faraway forest
Lived a monkey called Mabel who loved to eat porridge.
She lived in a treehouse high in the sky
And always dreamt about how she could fly

She’d watch the birds swoop high and low
And thought maybe one day she’d have a go
But could only ever swing from tree to tree
Which certainly wasn’t flying like a bee

She’d sometimes would see a plane fly above
And thought one day she would love,
To join the people in a chopper
With her best friend called Glenn a tinny grasshopper

Glenn and Mable would hang out all the time
Especially when the sun started to shine
And stare at the sky above them to see
If they could get higher than their tree

One rainy day they noticed next door
Trees were falling to the floor
Panic hit in as they realised that their abode
Was being chopped down like a lawn being mowed

Reluctantly they had to move on with fear
Which made them both shed a small tear
But they found a tree taller than before
Knowing there would be plenty more

Glenn and Mabel sat in their tree
Wondering what it would be like to be
In a plane way up high
Looking down at them from the sky
